Hey – if you’ve found your way here, my name is Dervla, and this is my travel blog. I don’t have social media, so this is my space to document my travels and share my journey with friends and family.

I got the travel bug when I first traveled to Japan at age 14. It opened my eyes to an entire globe that I couldn’t wait to explore. When I returned to Japan in my early twenties through the Critical Language Scholarship program, this time with advanced language skills, a government stipend to play with, and a deeper appreciation for the great privilege it is to travel abroad, I gained friends and experiences that truly changed me for the better.

Now that I’m in my 30s, I finally have just enough PTO and money to take an occasional trip, usually around California or the greater US, and sometimes abroad. I’m excited to share my thoughts and photos with you.
